In collaboration with Montgomery County government in Maryland and community organizations, Communications Shop led the branding development, messaging and communications products for this initiative during the initial six months of the Bienvenidos Initiative.
The initiative consolidated The Bienvenidos Network, a joint multi-stakeholders partnership of community organizations, county and public school agencies working together to proactively link newly arrived immigrants and asylum-seeking children and families/sponsors with existing health, education, and human services provided by the county, public schools, and community organizations.
Communication Shop successfully implemented a new branding and created effective strategies and products so the Bienvenidos members could promote the available services to newly arrived immigrants including Central American Mayan communities in their languages in a way they feel welcome.
With the Bienvenidos initiative’s #AquíParaTi #HereForYou campaign, we could show the newcomer immigrant communities the services they can access, which is an essential support for their integration and the development of the county.
In 2022 the work on this campaign was recognized with the Vega Awards: Category Video / Online Video (Single) Sub-Category Public Service / Activism Bienvenidos #AquiParaTi – Mam Speakers, Mayan Community.
