The American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC), a bipartisan coalition of over 1,400 diverse businesses and business associations, is dedicated to promoting common-sense immigration reform that advances economic competitiveness, provides companies with the high-skilled and low-skilled talent they need, and allows the integration of immigrants into the U.S. economy.Â
ABIC is active in key states and communities nationwide, engaging activists, advocates, business leaders, and elected officials on the urgency of passing these necessary immigration reforms.Â
This case study highlights the work that the media relations team did from June until July to find media opportunities among Spanish media outlets for ABIC and American Families United (AFU) members. Â
Following a strategy to stay one step ahead of breaking news, when President Biden announced measures to keep American families together, offering relief to an estimated 500,000 undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens, we secured over 15 media hits across national and local Spanish-language outlets, spotlighting the profound significance of this announcement.Â
From radio, to TV and newspapers, ABIC and AFU’s spokespeople became key voices in the conversation. They gave interviews and were quoted in some of the country’s most influential Spanish media outlets, including Telemundo, Univision, El Tiempo Latino, Estrella TV, and more. Each appearance reinforced the message: families deserve to stay together, and this policy was a critical step toward that goal.
The objective of this contract was to promote and amplify ABIC’s efforts and hard work by conducting media outreach to Spanish media outlets. Particularly at a time and context when Biden’s Administration announced relevant and historic measures regarding immigration.Â
Anticipation of the official announcement of Biden’s Executive Order regarding protecting immigrant spouses of citizens from deportation.Â
