Latino/a Advocacy Day (LAD)

The Latino/a Advocacy Day (LAD) in Denver, Colorado, is an annual advocacy event for community leaders from around the state to gather for three days of workshops that culminates with a lobby day to meet with their state lawmakers. The event provides an opportunity for Colorado Latinx constituents to advocate for important issues impacting their communities, including housing, environmental, reproductive, and health issues. LAD is organized by Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR), Voces Unidas de las Montañas, and Protegéte, and partners with more than 20 community organizations throughout the state to recruit participants.

In March 2023, Communications Shop partnered with COLOR, Voces Unidas de las Montañas, and Protegéte to support for the 17th annual LAD. Our work involved organizing the logistics for more than 300 Latinx community members and ensuring a robust and successful lobby day.

Communications Shop created the design for the 17th annual LAD and produced the programs, badges for participants, posters, and signs. Communications Shop also supported with the hotel logisticsl, receptions, and fundraisings organized outside the hotel. During LAD’s lobby day, Communications Shop coordinated more than 40 meetings between Colorado elected officials and hundreds of constituents to raise awareness for key issues.
