In 2018, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), the largest immigrant rights organization in California, opened a Washington, D.C. office to ensure that elected leaders hear the voices of the immigrant community loud and clear. Ahead of the new opening, Communications Shop partnered with CHIRLA and developed a comprehensive, 3-month communication strategy to support CHIRLA with media relations and coordination, facilitate communication between CHIRLA, reporters, editors, and influencers, and build long-lasting media relationships that continue to this day.
Communications Shop also assisted in managing event-related activities in the Washington, D.C. area on behalf of CHIRLA, as well as creating, editing, and distributing communications materials. As a result, CHIRLA was able to advocate more effectively, bringing its expertise and determination right to where the action happens in Washington.
