Following the successful ‘One Million By 2020’ citizenship campaign in 2019 featuring the animated character Don Ramón “El Tuercas”, NPNA entrusted Communications Shop to lead the ‘¡Votar es Actuar’ campaign promoting voter registration among thousands of newly naturalized Americans. Communications Shop designed all aspects of the ¡Votar es Actuar! campaign, including developing new PSAs and renewing a strategic media partnership with Entravision Communications showcasing the campaign on their television and digital platforms.
The media collaboration with Entravision, coordinated and executed by the Communications Shop team, included innovative tactics such as a video series in which TV station news anchors interacted with the campaign’s animated spokesperson Don Ramón “El Tuercas”; as well as an interactive map created by NPNA featured on Entravision’s national webpage Noticias Ya to inform the community about important 2020 general election dates and state-specific information to help facilitate voter registration, mail-in voting, and answer frequently asked questions.
As part of this partnership, Entravision also sponsored a coast-to-coast phone bank event during its prime-time newscasts on National Voter Registration Day, Tuesday, Sep. 22, 2020.
